Recap: The keys to growth amidst COVID-19 is trending, opportunities clients are finding in the pandemic is what’s in the trenches, and a timeless principle about surviving any crisis from Abraham Lincoln.
Welcome back to another edition of #ThreeThingsThursday. I’m Tom Vander Well with Intelligentics, where intelligence meets tactics.
Trade Magazine Industrial Distribution recently kicked off a series of five-minute video interviews featuring industry leaders. Their first interview was with Systemax CEO Barry Litwin, who shared some insights into the phenomenal third-quarter performance of their Global Industrial despite this year of unforeseen business challenges created by the COVID19 pandemic. In the interview, Litman attributes their success to sticking to their strategy of actively listening to the market and anticipating what their customers would need as they returned to work. They did their homework to find out the customer-centered initiatives that would put them in the right strategic position.
I’m glad to say that we’re seeing similar tactics from clients here in the #Trenches at Intelligentics. Like Barry Litwin and his team at Gobal Industrial, we have clients in the B2B distribution space who have already been listening to their customers and their markets through Intelligentics customized research and assessment services. This means they are already in a position to make the right moves because their finger is already on the pulse of their market.
One client is seeing very different expectations and buying habits based on demographics, helping them understand where they might have opportunities to tweak operations and fulfillment to satisfy divergent expectations in their market.
Another client discovers they have a whole new segment of customers who have found them because other suppliers can’t meet their need amidst pandemic lockdowns. Intelligentics research can help them understand how best to understand their expectations and what tactics will be required to retain those customers and their business long-term.
President Abraham Lincoln arguably led the U.S. through a crisis that was longer, and more deadly, than 2020. He said:
“I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.”
That’s one of the things I have loved about my job at Intelligentics for over 25 years. It’s the service we provide our clients every day. Our research and assessments provide clients with the real facts they need to make the tactical decisions that will position them for success no matter what crisis they’re facing.
Do you have the real facts you and your business need to make the right tactical decisions for coming out of the pandemic in 2021? If not, please give us a call. It’s what we do here at Intelligentics, where Intelligence meets tactics.
I’m Tom Vander Well. Have a great day!
